From July 22-24, LoGRI Chair Dr. Wilson Prichard participated at the 2025 Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) General Assembly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Organized by the International Tax Compact (ICT), the event brought together over 70 in-person and 40 online participants to mark the 10th anniversary of the ATI and to discuss the future of domestic revenue mobilization in the wake of the launch of Seville Declaration on DRM at Fourth Financing for Development Conference.
Dr. Prichard presented at the panel discussion “Advancing progressive taxation: experiences, challenges, and successes from ATI partner countries” and at the Meeting of Consultative Group 4 on strengthening tax compliance through civic engagement and understanding the politics of public trust.
In these sessions, he highlighted the critical – but relatively under-utilized – role property taxes can have in accelerating subnational development in lower-income countries.
