In collaboration with the Global Land Tool Network and the UN-Habitat, LoGRI is co-organizing a side event at the African Urban Forum on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya, the AUF will convene Africa’s political leadership, private sector, civil society and development partners to advance affordable, inclusive and resilient housing across the continent.
Faced with the retreat of official development assistance, rapid population growth and urbanization, cities are witnessing growing financial pressure to fund their development. Under the theme “Property Taxation as a Driver for Adequate Housing and Sustainable Urban Development in Africa“, the side event will explore how cities can leverage property taxation to enhance domestic resource mobilization, support expanded infrastructure and public service provision, and ultimately contribute to more equitable and sustainable urban development.
To attend in-person, register for AUF before April 4, 2026.
