The Local Government Revenue Initiative (LoGRI) is excited to announce the launch of its new training initiative, the Property Tax Development Program (PTDP).

The PTDP is a hybrid course designed to equip property tax professionals, policymakers, and government officials with the expertise and practical tools to lead and support the successful delivery of reform initiatives in lower-income countries.

About the Program

Kicking off on September 22, the course is comprised of eight virtual lessons followed by three full-day, in-person training sessions to be held later this fall. The first cohort is comprised of 18 talented individuals, each with a proven track record and high-quality work experience in property taxation, land administration, and related fields.

The course offers a comprehensive curriculum, designed to strengthen and expand participants’ existing skillset and knowledge base. Structured into four key modules, the course aims to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the property tax cycle, common challenges, and emerging innovative reform strategies – all tailored to the specific context and needs of lower-income countries. Each module pairs technical content with case studies and interactive exercises to guarantee real-world relevance and applicability. By the end of the course, participants will be better equipped to diagnose key weaknesses in property tax systems and help design politically feasible, administratively viable reform solutions.

Building Property Tax Capacity

The launch of the PTDP reaffirms LoGRI’s commitment to strengthening property tax capacity and technical expertise in lower-income countries. Through dynamic seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities, the PTDP helps participants cultivate the knowledge, skills, and connections to better support meaningful tax reform within their municipalities.
