Research

Applied research and knowledge are the bedrock of LoGRI’s efforts to support the construction of progressive and equitable property tax systems in lower-income countries. Through research, we seek to generate rigorous, co-created and applied knowledge with key partners. This collaborative dimension ensures that the insights generated from our research are locally rooted and contribute to practical solutions for reform. Key themes covered in our research include the political economy of tax reform, technical reform strategies, digitalization, inter-institutional cooperation, and tax compliance. By exploring these issues, LoGRI strives to build a comprehensive understanding of property tax systems in lower-income countries, with the ultimate goal of helping governments raise local revenue more fairly and in ways that promote trust, transparency, and accountability.
